EPIK: Educational Projects for Indian Kids PDF E-mail

It is the vision of a residential school in the foothills of the Himalayas. The project is expected to start in 2013 initially with 18 orphan children and 6 mothers. It seeks to provide a family atmosphere to children in individual homes, accommodating 5 to 6  children each.

In this project, the role of the mothers will be shouldered by widowed, divorced or single women, who are often cursed by Indian society as “unlucky” and therefore, are treated unfairly.

With its vision of bringing together two deprived sections (orphan children and widowed mothers) of Indian society, the project will make a humble attempt at protecting the lives of a small number of people.
