The idea for the new project was initiated by Vasanti Vasu and Dayanand Arora.

Vasanti Vasu
Vasanti was born and brought up in Bombay, India. Trained as a pediatric nurse, she is the co-founder of a medical care center for children in emergency. Presently living in Berlin, she has devoted her life to the care of acutely sick children.

"Born in a large joint family, interacting with children comes naturally to me. Their smile is a reward in itself"

Dayanand Arora
Dayanand was born in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. A graduate from the University of Delhi, he worked in the field of education. Presently living in Berlin, Germany, he teaches international business at a university.

Together with Kamla Sawhney, he was a co-founder of Sangam Foundation in 1982, which started the Sangam School for poor children in 1987 in a village near New Delhi.

"Though I was a child of rich parents, I saw the other extreme of life very soon when my father lost his business and we had to live with the minimum.  I wish that no child should be constrained in his development because of lack of resources".

For the conceptual work on the new project, we have created a registered charitable society in Berlin called "EPIK Germany e.V."
